Why Counselling?

"Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say" - Lear

Counselling is for anyone at any time in their life, as sometimes we need a little extra help and support to navigate life’s ups and downs.

This doesn't mean you do not already have friends and family from whom you find support, or you are not capable yourself. Talking to a counsellor simply helps you to explore your current feelings or circumstances through a different lens; in a safe, secure and non -judgemental environment, giving you freedom to say anything in confidence whilst exploring your feelings or current situation.

Counselling may feel a daunting prospect, so we work together at your pace. I am not here to judge or advise you, but help you unravel

confusing, upsetting, challenging or unclear thoughts and feelings.

In turn, we work to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, potentially changing your feelings and empowering you to make decisions that are right for you.

Everyone attends counselling for their own reasons, but these may be some of the feelings you are experiencing and would like to address in our sessions. This is not an exhaustive list and we explore whatever you wish to bring, in your way, in your time.

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Grief and mourning

  • Loss

  • Fear

  • Relationships

  • Making life decisions

  • Trauma

  • Past events

  • Confusing feelings

  • Your beliefs, values and view of life

Each session lasts 50 or 60 minutes.
